Mission Statement
Philadelphia CollageWorks (PCW) is a members’ collective that engages artists in the discipline of collage, including assemblage and mixed media. We foster a supportive environment where artists of all levels and backgrounds are free to create and grow. Through exhibitions, events, workshops, and community outreach, we share and advocate the joy and diversity of collage as a means of creative expression.
Statement of Values
PCW is a supportive and welcoming artistic community. We welcome artists of all levels and backgrounds. Our members are an equal part of the community and are met with courtesy and a respect for feelings, wishes, traditions, and ideas.
PCW strives to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Artists of any race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or immigration status are welcome. To maintain a sense of trust, each member strives for honesty and integrity in all communications and actions.
PCW provides a lifelong learning community. We offer discussion, camaraderie, and support. We share our work, techniques, and knowledge to motivate and encourage each artist’s creative aspirations and practice.
PCW believes in group participation. We work collectively for artistic growth through meetings, participation in individual and group exhibitions, and community projects. All members actively participate in exhibitions by contributing artwork and assisting with the planning, installation, and breakdown of work.
Membership
Membership is open to any artist in the greater Philadelphia area, with dues collected from all current members by February of each year, and from all new members by the second meeting attended. Monthly meetings alternate between in-person and online.
Partnerships
We’re a non-profit organization sponsored by Da Vinci Art Alliance.
