Catherine Gontarek

Catherine Gontarek is a graphic designer + in the habit of taking photographs on the walk to work = collage. Her work explores the occupation of space, place, and body relative to a location—and what a reciprocal relationship with the environment might look like.

Catherine holds a BFA from Central Michigan University, and an MLA from the University of Pennsylvania, where she works as an art director for The Pennsylvania Gazette. She has exhibited paintings, collage, and mixed-media work in solo and group shows in the Philadelphia area since 1994, and is a member of InLiquid and Philadelphia CollageWorks.
