Lisa Bain
Lisa Bain is new to collage, and new to West Chester. After a 40+-year career as an editor at various NYC-based magazines (including Esquire, Glamour, Women’s Health, and Prevention—where she continues as a contract editor), she went freelance and relocated to PA. During her mag career she worked closely with art directors on the visual direction of the pages, and was (and is) a regular visitor to MOMA, the Whitney, and the galleries in Chelsea —and now, the Philadelphia Art Museum/Barnes/Brandywine. Most of her collages so far have been abstract and graphic, using vintage paper (1800-era kids’ books, ’39 World’s Fair ephemera, etc.), museum maps and brochures, and more, as well as her own watercolors. She had a collage displayed in Kolaj Institute Gallery’s “Big Orange Monster” exhibition in New Orleans, October ’25.
