Angela Arrey-Wastavino
Passionate for the arts, Angela Arrey-Wastavino has explored a myriad of visual art techniques. Though she started working with classical materials/techniques, during the last decade she has morphed into an ecological artist working with non-traditional and repurposed materials. Her exhibits, national and international, include 2-D as well as 3-D installations.
In contrast with her previous figurative art, her collage works explore psychological aspects of imagery, serving unlimited interpretations of abstractions. For the artist, collaging has been approached as a challenging technique, where the process of defragmenting images to recreate new artwork has been a rewarding artistic experience.
Dr. Arrey-Wastavino has also been a teaching artist working with disenfranchised communities whose access to the arts and artistic talent expression have been limited. Supported by grants and in conjunction with numerous non-profit organizations, she has worked with populations of all ages to bridge poverty gaps.
