Artist Statement

In my artistic practice, I explore the endless possibilities of mixed media and their transformative power. Through a harmonious fusion of diverse materials and processes, I seek to create a visual language that transcends traditional boundaries, inviting viewers to delve into a realm where innovation and imagination intertwine.

Each artwork I create is an intimate dialogue between materials, where the unpredictable encounters of various mediums give birth to unexpected narratives. With each work, I navigate the intersection of paint, ink, collage, and digital techniques, allowing each element to contribute its unique voice to the creative chorus. By embracing this eclectic mix, I unlock a boundless array of expressive potential, pushing the boundaries of what is considered possible in art.

My artistic process is marked by experimentation, playfulness, and a deep reverence for the materials I work with. Layers upon layers of textures, colors, and forms emerge, woven together in a tapestry of visual storytelling. The interplay of light and shadow, the juxtaposition of rough and smooth surfaces, and the tension between organic and geometric shapes converge to create a rich tapestry of sensory experiences.

Biography

Robert Reinhardt is a Philadelphia-based mixed-media artist/educator who explores his love of nature versus man-made structures through printmaking, collage, photography, and painting. He holds degrees from Tyler School of Art and the University of the Arts. As an art instructor, he has taught at Germantown Friends School, the Philadelphia Art Museum, UARTS, and the Fleisher Art Memorial.

His work has been widely exhibited in national and local galleries and juried exhibitions, as well as public, corporate, and private collections. Select collections include the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Federal Reserve Bank, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, Edinburgh Central Library, and the Free Library of Philadelphia.
